ordering colony of 30 tropheus

so i hope to be receiving a colony of 30-40 tropheus in the next few weeks.  My question is if the importer holds them for 10 days to treat the fish do i need to do it when they arrive to me.  I plan to put them in a 180 gal by themselves.  I do have a smaller 75 gallon i could put them in for additional quarantine and treatment but not sure it would be necessary if they were just quarantined and treated, plus they are going into a tank by themselves.

what are your thoughts?/

Is it WC? I think it is always a good preventive measure to do your own quarantine just to make sure everything is OK...

I would just keep a close eye on them if they look healthy n active I wouldn't do anything to them. They already been thru enough stress shipping why medicate when u don't have too only when u c signs of lethargic not swimming normal white stringing poop or just stay in the corner not active then it's when u take action.

Depends on what the importer treated them with and for. I would ask and make sure of that before deciding to do anything.

I agree with Andrew best to make sure before doing anything or nothing...lots of horror stories in the last few years of wild fish not properly quarantined then dying, and also infecting other healthy fish and killing them too...do your homework.
I keep F1's for this reason and you can usually hunt around til you find a wild group that has the color genes you want in Troph's and get fry from there. Much safer 🤓

well i decide to only buy 15 to start with.
these are the ones I bought from ****, he said he has had them since April.
they will be here on Thursday morning
I will find out what he treated them with tomorrow.

If you can afford all 30 I would get all 30...adding to an existing wild group can be tricky...you'd also need another cycled tank to QT the new group in b4 mixing them together...

He only had 15 so I have decided to keep them in my cycled 75 gallon and order 30 at a later date for the 180.

really looking for something a little different.  I twill be in my living room so i would like a fish with some nice consistent color.

ps.  I have already aggravating Drew multiple times for his opinion. lol
