Adding to bioload

So what are your methods? Say you have a cycled tank and it has 1 fish in it. Then you plan to add 30 tropheus to it. How do you increase its capacity to handle the huge bioload increase? My plan is to not feed for a couple days and also add cycled media from anther tank that I have and possibly (depending on nitrate test) doing an extra water water change the first week and possibly the second week if needed. 

I am kind of figuring things out as I go. I would say I'm a novice fish keeper. What is the standard for something like this?

I would either add more fish to tank before trophs come to cycle, adding media from established tank is the best option. I've also had luck with seachem stability. How long do you have before trophs come?

Im not sure how long i have but there are a couple synodontis and a cyprichromis along with some Malaysian trumpet snails. The cyp comes out as they go in. Ill check out stability.

The way i have instantly cycled my tanks is to take the sponge filters from an established tank squeeze it out in the tank you want to cycle then you can use those sponges in there and also I als o always add media from the established filter as well or just swap the new filter for the old one. On my tanks I usually run an ehiem can and seachem hob and I'll just swap out the hob to the new tank and put the new one on the old tank. The cannister has enough bio to handle that. I have never had a problem with this method. I've used it for wild fish as well as tank raised with very high success rate.
