what colony would you pair with Golden Kiriza?

Hello all—

Wanted to get your thoughts on what you’d pair with a colony of Golden Kiriza. new to Trophs, and I’m just in the planning stages...but I really like the colorful strains versus the blacks (for now anyway). This is primarily a show tank, but I’m interested in watching all of the breeding/rearing aspects that they have to offer (won’t be stripping any of the females). I would like to keep the strains from cross breeding to avoid muddying up the gene pool any further.

The tank is a 210, and I’m thinking colonies of 25-30 each.

I may add some gobies and julidichromis as tank mates.

Any suggestions if you were me?

Hey John....

I think that species red, brichardi or Duboisi would all be good choices. Might be able to get away with Mpulungu or Red Rainbows as well.

Excellent! Glad to hear I’ve got some options regarding some different groups. I do like the red rainbows quite a bit...so as long as they can cohabitate without any cross breeding, that may be the route I go.

I agree with Drew they would be good with any of those variants. I think that they would look awesome with a group of duboisi they are one of my favorites. Drew has awesome fry I have some from him and they look top notch at 3.5 inches

I would go for something black to go with them ...ie, total contrast. Dubosi are easy to find and lower cost, so there is that.

Another bright color option is red bishops. They're a color mutation of species black Karamba. Not as expensive (or rare) as albino chipimbi but a really nice full body orange/red troph...
Both GK's and RB's are mutations from Sp. black trophs so maybe a slight risk of cross breeding...
