This is an updated video of my f1 group I purchased from Andrew back in march 2014. Started with 40 but have since vented snd removed 18 males. Hope y'all enjoy

Looking great nice and active, shame on you Andrew for giving selling him sooooo many males   I think you should grow out some females for him lol.  I couldn't help but notice the sponge on the left, have you adapted a canister intake using that sponge as a type of pre-filter or something ?

Thanks buddy. I keep it simple with Omega one super veggie kelp sinking pellets and a little bit of nls thera-a. And alot of water changes!

Lol...Yeah kinda have to expect at least 50/50 when buying fry and hope for more females. Was pretty close to 50/50 though so. And the filter you see is just a hydro prefilter I attached to the intake tube of my filter. Just helps keep the filter cleaner a little longer. Just rinse it of every week with water changes.

I thought so, I looked into it a while back for my fx6 but couldn't find anything or anyone doing it to an fx6, if I remember right Andrew did something similar but ran an fx5 into another canister full of bio (maybe wrong) but a pre filter to hold back larger particles is a top idea, saves on maintenance and makes for a much cleaner filter.

Oh on the ratio I was just messing with Andrew, I know from being here and watching his channel he's a top guy and a very very good tanganyikan cichlid keeper / breeder and of course you can't sex small juvies, I have trouble sexing my adult WC's and have to seek help from my importer, still soooo much to learn lol

Definitely saves on maintenance. And I figured you were you were messing with him. Lol
