TROPHEUS:

Tropheus is a small genus of eight species of cichlids endemic to Lake Tanganyika in East Africa. Annecten, Black, Brichardi, Duboisi, Ikola, Moorii, Mpimbwe and Red. The genus Tropheus is widespread across all regions of lake Tanganyika, from Burundi in the North to Zambia in the South. Males and females are relatively similar as they are monomorphic. All species maternally mouthbrood their eggs and fry and it is this characteristic that provides their latin name. The name Tropheus is derived from the Greek "trophos" which means "to nurture". Most species occur along the coastal fringes of the lake at depths of less than 3 metres. These rocky shores, with numerous rocky outcroppings and boulder formations form a habitat that provides shelter and, due to the shallow depth and the long hours of strong sunlight, heavy algal growth on which the Tropheus feed. The only tropheus species to dwell further out and deeper in the lake is Tropheus Duboisi which in general inhabits deeper regions of the lake down to around 15-20 metres. All species are algal grazers and have underslung mouths adapted to rasping algae and microinvertebrates from submerged rocks

Finished the stand and the 90 is up and running. It has twin Eheim Pro4+ 350's, a JBJ True Temp Titanium Heating System, and a Maxspect XF230 Gyre Flow Generator Pump w/ controller. What I lack are lights... I currently have a Aquaneat LED on the 30 gal cube and a Finnex Planted+ 24/7 LED on the PDF vivarium, so I am familiar with how they look. What are your thoughts and favorites for your tropheus?

Ohhhhh, and the other thing lacking from the tank are the tropheus which I hope to remedy soon.

Tank looks mint mate...really nice natural look. I have a 48" 6500 lumen beamswork (not programmable) on my 6' 125gal. Not super bright but very crisp clean light and I think it ould do well on a 48" 90gal. If I made the purchase again I would have bought a 60" or 72" for sure.
Because of the darkish background and sand color I would go with a bright contrasting troph variant like ikola or bulu point, but TBH your favourite variant will look stunning in that troph palace!!
