TANK SIZING

I'm looking at my options for a new tank. I have about 66" of length max and can go with a 24" deep unit.

I've spotted the standard 75 gallon as well as a 4x2x2 ( taller than I'd like). Are there any different semi standard sizes I could look at? (I'd rather not go acrylic)

I have seen quite a few 5' 120 gal tanks mate...do you want new or pre-loved?

Yeah a 5ft 120 would be cool! Get it as wide (front to back) as you can and low as possible. Square footage is the most important.

I'm very nervous about buying a used tank but a 5 foot 120 would be awesome. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with a new 75 though.

As Long as the Silicone is in good condition, soft and clear, you are good to go. If it's hard and white, chances are it's pretty old. But scrapping off the old stuff with brand new razors and ISO Alcohol is fairly easy, then just tape either side of each corner to be resealed and then apply the silicone. Then wipe with your finger and wipe on a paper towel and when all corners are done, carefully pull the tape off and into the trash. Let sit for a minimum of two days (7 is better) and you're done.

That's not too bad then. I'm actually in no rush so will keep looking until I find something.
